Bottle at Palace of Wonders. I can see how this one fits in with the theme of the bar, but the aste was disappointing. Pure bitterness without subtlety, complexity or character. Decent pine aroma, but that’s about it.

9th October 2008. GABF. Somewhat shorthand notes! Smooth lager come golden ale. Hoppy but sensibly so!

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of TheCheeseMan. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Malt in the nose but also some perfumy hops. Medium body, sweet malts and an extremely harsh, raw and unrefined bitterness. Rather crude really. 220909

Bottle @ pre-GBBF shindig, August 2009. Deepish gold. Grassy aroma. Some hop bite on the palate, strengthening on the finish. Didn’t really make that much of an impression to be honest. Just realized it is 6.8%. Didn’t realize it was that strong - certainly didn’t drink that way. Strong lagers don’t really do it for me but this was OK.
