Dark pour from draft at Trianle Tap in Des Moines. White head. Malty Carmel flavor, earthy and leather. Not bad for the style

Growler shared by jcwattsrugger: Poured deep dark brown center with orange brown edges. Head is a whispery white. Steep malty aroma base. Nice rich malt and light sweetness.

On draft at the brewery tap room. It is a clear dark Amber color with a slight head. The aroma is malty and the taste is a strong bitter flavor of black Licorice bitter finish.

A superb scottish ale. Rich and malty. Midy sweet with a thick mouthfeel. Tried with Jess at Barley’s in Council Bluffs after the Bernie show, 2015.

On tap at the Star Bar in Des Moines. Brown appearance with a fully dissipating tan head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel, toffee, nutty malts, earthy hops and a hint of tobacco. Similar flavor, malty and mildly sweet with a medium body. OK.

wlajwl (6886) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - DEC 7, 2014
Aroma is bread/dark bread, mildly nutty malts and a hint of spices. The flavor is nutty malts, fruit, slight sweetness and a mildly tart finish.

b3shine (8942) - Indiana, USA - FEB 6, 2014
Looks good for the style; a transparent deep amberish brown with very light beige lacing. Smells malty with a touch of biscuit and sweetness. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Solid beer.

Poured an amber brown color with aromas of malt, fruit esters, light caramel and some yeast. Flavors are the same nothing that really stands out just a basic Scottish ale, thanks John for the share.
