Bottle conditioned - contract brewed by Hepworth for Coniston.
Stronger version of Bluebird.
For cask version, see Coniston (Premium) XB.

English Pale Ale with American aroma hops.
Bluebird XB combines two of the great themes of ale brewing to produce something distinctive and new. The fine tradition of English Pale Ale is about quaffing, refreshment and complexity of flavour without alcoholic strength

Then throw in a new wave of American hop variety Mount Hood with robust citrus aromas.
... Not too much mind or we might have an American Pale Ale on our hands?

Bluebird XB

BeerLieutenant38 (156) - Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA - SEP 1, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2017 Pours clear amber with white head with lacing. Malty caramel aroma, typical bitter nose but with a trace of citrus hops giving it a bit of an American edge. The American hops are particularly noticeable in the initial flavour, but the typical malty notes come through more in the finish. Medium bodied, decent amount of carbonation. Very tasty blend of British and American styles.

From the 500 ml.bottle with a date stamp of F18-103. It pours a slightly heady, slightly hazy orange amber with a modest short-lived white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, maybe a little buttery sensation and a clean, crisp citrus hop zing. The body is light to medium with a creamy sort of texture. Sweetness in the taste and overall a clean, slightly bitter finishing beer. Something that fits the UK pub scene.

Sigmund (7834) - Tau, NORWAY - JUL 20, 2016
500 ml bottle, from Det Gode Brygg, Sandnes. ABV is 4.4%, Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Surprisingly dull aroma, notes of grain and dust, only the faintest hint of fruity hops. The flavour has a much better presence of hops, notes of citrus and berries. Nice to drink. The finish is not very bitter though.

Bottle in Bodega in Bowness on Windermere. Golden with a thin off white head. Mild citrus aroma. The taste is grassy citrus with bready malts. OK.

Mr_Pink_152 (5437) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2016
Bottle from Cumbrian supermarket. Golden with a big foamy white head. Nine of the "American aroma hops" really evident. Taste sweet malt and a touch of fruit.

klaing (282) - Florida, USA - FEB 27, 2016
Orange gold with lots of fine carbonation. Lasting frothy head. Biscuity malts like a good bitter if a tad sweet. Hops very citrusy New Worldy as advertised. Interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
