During the British Colonial Times, the English exported beer to India. To preserve the beer for a longer period, extra-hopped beers were produced (hops maintain natural preservation and add bitterness to the beer).

Pale, slightly hazy golden pour. The nose is quite hoppy with loads of fresh, zesty aromatics. Sort of a mix of some noble hops with a little bit of US-style citrusy stuff mixed in. Not really resinous at all but there is a bit, bright hoppiness on the finish. Soflty spicy as well with a great freshness. Excellent balance with a bit of fresh bready malt. A touch of earthy bitterness on the back of the palate. Very expressive malt character. Another winner.

33 cl. Le liquide voil a une couleur dore. Une belle mousse blanche persiste. Prsence dune dentelle.

330ml bottle, golden color, with a big frothy white head, leaving some belgian laces, nice yeasty, fruity nose of pear, litchi, peach esters, with some mild honeyed pale, toasted malt notes and some faint herbal minty, floral leafy hop accents in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, honeyish pale, toasty malt, candied fruity character of pears, apples, litchis, with some honeyed lollipop, flowery leafy hop, candied lemon, grapefruit peel flavours upfront, with a faint marmalade, zesty undertone, leading towards a fruity, honeyish, lingering citrusy, leafy, hop bitterness finish.

Poured from a 330cl bottle a hazy golden orange ale with a small white head. Aroma is citrus and floral. Flavor is a nice balance between hops, malts and Belgian candi sugar. Finish is a little dry and sweet. A pretty good Belgian ale/

A hazy orange beer, this pours w/ an enormous head of medium bubbles. Nose is mild, sort of herbal and fruit. The texture is somewhat watery and flat, which is disappointing, along w/ the flavor which is also rather on the light side even for a Belgian of moderate gravity. I tried a tripel from this same brewery just yesterday and it was quite good. Im not sure what went wrong w/ this one. It is overall just very bland and unremarkable.

No idea where I tried this. Found it in my notes. Apparently had it from a bottle. Says here it was a little yellower than some saisons, and that it didnt have much aroma. Just some funk and dry spice. Same for flavour. Not too fruity. Flavour and body fill out as it warms. Full body for style. Thats all Ive got. Seems I wasnt overly impressed.

My Bottom Line:
This Belgian Ales pleasantly doughy cereals evolve into lightly citrusy and herbal hops, a flavor profile carried by big-bubbled effervescence and relative dryness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the hazy hay blond.
-The mouthfeel and flavor profile are both really authentic. This is humble and very drinkable; feels like a countryside product all the way.
-The grassy, herbal hop bitterness is levelled, emboldened by the finishing dryness.
-All ingredients are harmonious. This one doesnt try to impress; its simply very good from beginning to end. Great job.
-Discreet bubblegum phenolics roam within.
