Tasty premium bitter brewed with a blend of traditional UK Goldings and Fuggles hops.Enticing floral aromas of Fuggles are followed by smooth spicy/citrus flavours of Goldings hops. Dark malts give a dark amber hue to this fine ale and create a lasting, memorable finish.

Clear medium amber colour with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, straw, caramel, damp stain - fusty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long to average duration, straw. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120120]

From cask at Crosse Keys. Pours cloudy orange with a small off white head. Breadish and toasted mslty. Bitter. Flat malty. Dry andd toasted breadish. Vague butterness. Watery finish.

Bottled. Amber colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is wooden, bready and caramel malty along with some mild nutty and floral notes. Flavour is rather nutty with some caramel, mildly bready notes along with some slight syrup and quite bitter wooden finish.

One-third pint glass, cask at Ship & Mitre. Tiny beige head to an almost mahogany coloured body. Good amount a lacing to the glass. Earthy, mid-sweet, malty nose. Taste of caramel malts mixed with spiced fruits. Bitter roast malts to the finish. Fine bodied. Decent brown bitter (Liverpool, 08.04.2013).
