COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian-style dark ale is the culmination of central and western European malts, Noble hops, candy sugar and a traditional Trappist yeast. Notes of dried fruit, cinnamon and vanilla make DNR a very complex experience to be enjoyed in moderation.

Bomber into a tulip glass. Pours a clear light brown, with a medium tan head which quickly fades, leaving minimal lacing. Nose is caramel and dark fruit. Taste is dark fruit with some malty sweetness and the typical Belgian yeast clove notes. Finish is surprisingly dry for the style. Overall, a pretty good interpretation of the Belgian strong ale style.

On tap. Deep amber with a bit of foam. Decent lacing. Malty aroma with bread and a bit of fruit. A bit too cold, so the taste is muted. The malt carries through with vanilla and caramel. A bit more fruit comes through as it warms. The alcohol isn’t as evident as I would have expected. Nice heavy mouth. This is a really nice Belgian. Very balanced.

Traded bottle, possibly from summer secret Santa ’13. Pours a very bubbly dark brown color with a medium off-white head. Pretty typical aroma of strong malt, a hint of sweetness and Belgian yeast. Flavor is spot on for the style with just a hint of the 10 ABV. Very well crafted to fit the category.

Bottle shared, poured a hazy amber orange color with aromas of light fruit, sweet sugar, and some yeast. Flavors follow suit, decent Belgium ale overall, thanks to the person who brought this one.

On tap. Pours a rich dark amber/copper with very little head or lacing. Nose is yeasty with some alcohol. Fizzy mouthfeel. Nice boozy burn with a sweet, yeasty finish. Hides the 10% pretty well. Another nice effort from Coop.

A - Hazy brownish orange. Creamy 1/2 inch fluent head with outstanding retention. S - Sweet honey, spicy yeast, over ripe pears, slight estery aroma. T - Rich and astringent yeast, bubblegum, syrupy fruits, slight clove, a slight sugary sourness. A twisted cotton candy flavor finishes this one up. A bit syrupy and warming but has nice spice with an interesting yeasty profile. Highly recommended. Serving type: on-tap 08-22-2010

nearbeer (5669) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 9, 2013
On tap. Cloudy amber-copper with a lasting film of cream. Nose is spicy-sweet: clove, banana, toffee, maybe some grape must and apple. Taste is the same blend, plus some white wine notes. Medium body is smoothly carbonated, starts sweet but stays in check for a nice overall balance, and shows only a nice touch of the 10% abv.
