500ml can (Beertopia, Omaha) - thanks Frank!Ferris (17108) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 15, 2014
Lovely soft chocolate cakey roasty aroma, such a contrast to the previous harsh IPA, this is putting a smile back on my face. Nice dark brown, tan head. Lovely lovely rich roast, stops me in the middle of my sentence. Absolutely lovely porter, love the cakey chocolate roastiness. So mellow and it relaxes me as I drink it. This is what porters should be like, and this is why I love US porters, it must be the grains they use - oatmeal added? And I’m jealous. Finish has quite a dryness to it, and gets burnter and burnter with each glug, but nothing that doesn’t leave you thirsty for more.
Draft -Dark roast and dark chocolate. Jet black with a rich light brown head. Roast malts, bittersweet chocolate and a long sweet finish. Well balanced and just well done. djd07 (16307) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 16, 2011
