lovely, something different. Poured black with a weak tan head. smelled a bit like a sushi joint, vinegar. Lots of roasted malt with some hop notes. Tastes a bit like a RIP without the alcohol. Nice drink to change it up.
Bottle. In Hawaii of course. Pretty much black color brown head. Aroma of burnt espresso. Taste has dark cocoa and dark coffee. Decent body. Tasty. Zlotta (3808) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - OCT 29, 2017
0.375 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before October 2018. Black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee and some licorice. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee and some licorice, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry and a little metallic finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice! Eddie1976 (118) - - OCT 19, 2017
I never used to like stouts but I’m slowly changing my mind and this one is helping me do that!

Bottle from a Melbourne Coles Liqourland. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is sweet roasty caramel malt, chocolate, coffee, liqourice, dry hop. The flavour is liqourice bitter with a roasty, dry smoke, charcoal liqourice palate and a dry liqourice bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Better than the aged version IMO. coil (149) - Reading, Berkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2017

Pours a gorgeous dark brown color with a perfectly 1 inch thick head into a tulip glass. Aroma is chocolate, licorice, warm spices, dark fruit, earthy, very roasty. Taste is dry chocolate up front with a smooth dark red fruit/berry note in the middle finished with a great slightly drying bitter note. Overall a fairly drinkable beer with pleasant roasty fall/winter flavors. mithe (1872) - Opava & Brno, CZECH REPUBLIC - JUL 12, 2017

From old tasting notes. Black brown color. Thick creamy tan head. Spicy roasted malt nose. Rich sweet roasted chocolate malt flavor. Overly sweet, yet drinkable. doriangrey (84) - Diamond Creek, AUSTRALIA - APR 16, 2017
Strong but lacking the bite or flavour of a strong beer. Some liquorice but otherwise slightly bland and watery. I’d take it over many other beers though
