Dark in colour but lacks character. Easy to drink but not to be savoured. Mild taste with some sediment.

Tap @ Burrawang Pub. Dark brown. Chocolate, caramel and hazelnuts. Decent body for a brown ale. Slight sweetness. Went well with a porky country terrine and the Sunday roast pork. mengo81 (55) - - MAY 25, 2017

375ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen. Pours dark brown with an off white head. Aroma of malt and toffee with hazelnuts. Sweetish taste, a hint of chocolate. Bitter finish. Better than I thought it was going to be. varanid99 (1338) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 17, 2017
Dark brown, murky pour with very little beige head. Roasted malt, nutty, chocolate aroma. Taste is chocolate, nuts, dried fruit - a bit thin. Ok but nothing exciting john44 (3392) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 7, 2017
Bottle. Dark Brown in colour. Malty; roast (slightly burnt) malts, caramel, some chocolate. Fruity; some fruit notes. Mildly sour roasty and fruity throughout. Drinkable. OK but bland. (2009-07)

clear black with moderate brown head. Some malt and chocolate in aroma. Chocolate much more pronounced in taste. Hint of copper at the end that lets you know it’s a Coopers. Very smooth. Thinner than it looks, but that’s okay, just makes it very sessionable. Like a little mini extra stout. Tezminator (298) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 3, 2016
Nice and simple, easy to drink dark ale. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Taste is sweet with mild notes of coffee and something toffee-like. Itsumishi (49) - AUSTRALIA - APR 23, 2016
My favorite Cooper’s offering and one of the better beers from the really big breweries in Australia (although maybe not if you consider Little Creatures and the ilk that have been bought out)...
Poured from a stubby. Dark brown with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is dark roast coffee and malt. Palate is thin and carbonated, better after its gone a little flat. Flavour is coffee, malt, sweet and biscuit.
It’s certainly not the best brown in town, but at $16 a sixer, it’s drinkable and value for money. mrmoe (7) - - JAN 17, 2016 does not count
I know it is a little low in alcohol at on 4.5 %,but the flavours, taste and aroma are all there to be enjoys.
Cooper’s always deliver a good beer and this one along with the extra stout are brilliant.
Cooper’s dark is delicious with anything off the grill! samsmith33 (772) - - NOV 16, 2015
Found tasting notes from my 2009 trip to Australia. Bottle to glass from Brick, Melbourne. Caramel, medium malt. Thin, but smooth texture. One of my favorites down under.
