Vintage 2007. UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 My favorite of the Cooper’s beers and one I grab on the rare occasions that I find it. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a cloudy chestnut color with a trace of a white head and huge amounts of sediment. The aroma is a fabulous blend of sweet, tang, nut and caramel. The texture is thick. The flavor is dominated by elements of molasses, maple, caramel, and a little sweet tanginess. The aftertaste is a bit bitter. Overall and incredible scent mixed with an interestingly complex sweet flavor. I will definitely be trying this one again. This is a review of the recent batch of Coopers Vintage Ale, this one released 4th October 2002.
Ok, I was really looking forward to testing this one. I love my Coopers and from what I’d heard this was one of their finest offerings.
I wasn’t disappointed.
Enjoy this one in a glass, the aroma is much more free to move and invade your nostrils. Fruity, somewhat akin to a plum/apricot sort of smell in my opinion, really lovely.
The taste is excellent. Nothing too overwhelming though I think it would develop with the recommended 18months cellaring. Nice and fruity like the smell with the definite taste of hops on the after palate.
A good kick of alcohol so not something you’d want to have too many of if you had to go to work the next day.
A very good beer even when it hasn’t aged. Be back in 18 months to tell you how its changed. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 24, 2004
Fruity aroma. Very little head. Orangey amber in color with a million floaties, some very large. Fruity flavor with a nice malt backbone and citric presence. Well balanced and very enjoyable. Bottled in 02. madquacker (1143) - Canberra ACT, AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2005
Smooth, yet robust. The tonnes of alochol are consumed in a lathery creamy head. One of the best beers I’ve ever had.

Bottled. Wow, yeah! Great, complex flavours and aromas: orange, malt, prunes, hops, flowers, wood, alcohol, yeast, caramel... it’s all there. Good mouthfeel and a nice aged aftertaste, makes you think of oak barrels or something like that. Very highly reccomended. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 21, 2009
2008 bottle, 375ml. Remarkable beer. Aroma has raisins, caramel, and also yeast, which gets stronger as you go. Flavour is complex and long lasting, with sweet notes dominating. Medium to full body, silky mouthfeel. Copper colour and white frothy head; it has yeast for bottle conditioning. fajry (2080) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - AUG 4, 2014
Flasa. Vintage 2012. Tmavsia jantarova farba, husta a kremova pena drzala pocas celeho pitia. Vona susenych sliviek, kandizovane ovocie, jemne pikantnost. Chut horkej cokolady, susenych sloviek, figy. V pozadi jemne bylinky, susene slivky, lieskove oriesky. Telo stredne, stredna nasytenost. Uzasny pocit v ustach, velmi pitelne pivo.
