Nice copper color. Has a nice bite to it, it’s not a big bite but there is one there. A very nice Strong Ale. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 5, 2002
Very enjoyable ale! Rich flavor with a nice bitterness. Great Upstate NY beer. jayme9874 (756) - Hamburg, New York, USA - MAR 30, 2002
Clear bright copper. Thin head, nice lace. Nose of malt, yeast and a bit of peat? Medium body, soft and chewy, definite malt and peaty smoke on the palate, ringwood yeast(shows up very early and at the end) adds a unique and tasty fruity compliment to the beer. Nicely rich and balanced. Good shit! I have had 3 of this breweries beers and they have been winners. Gusler (2653) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 9, 2001
Nice ruby brown color, beige head, generous lace, medium body.
The yeast is quite evident in the nose, but the malts dominate. Still the finish has a nice bite of hops which adds greatly to the pleasure of this beer. A good beer I think, and a very quaffable brew for all concerned, and a cool label for us baseball fans. ’Thanks Venom.’ VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 28, 2001
Huge maltiness and a warming alcohol bite, all underneath the Ringwood yeast fruitiness. A ditto version of Geary’s Hampshire Ale, but a little tamer. Nice sipping brew.
