(12 oz bottle: Obtained 27-Jun-05 in trade with jah noth, thanks Dan!) Expecting the usual gusher from Cooperstown, I’m pleasantly surprised that there was only a slight rush of carbonation when I popped the cap. And pouring the beer was easy -- no foamy mess. The aroma is fruity, woody, a bit earthy. Good follow-through in the flavor, as I’m getting plenty of sweet, dark fruits, caramely malts, a bit of molasses, some earthiness, finishing with a hint of smoke on the back end. Bitterness is very mild. Medium-bodied, low to medium carbonation, fairly easy to drink. Orange-amber body is fairly hazy, but the filmy, off-white layer dissipates fairly rapidly. Not a great beer, but quite drinkable and one of the better ones I’ve had from this brewery. Haslinger (962) - The World of Beer, Texas, USA - JUN 21, 2008

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of jjpm74. Hazy amber golden with a lively off-white and lacing head. Some fruit in the nose. Medium body with sweetish roasted malt, fruit - also overripe fruit - and a little burned caramel. Lightly bitter finish. 131108 BiddleBrau (1221) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2009
Deep mahogany with thin head. Malty nose, toasty with caramel. Caramel malt sweet with dry hop bitterness. Not so full on the palate and finishes clean. Real nice go. A stand up double. On tap at Dive 96, NYC Ron (4110) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 17, 2011
Cloudy amber color with big frothy off white head. Malt and dried fruit aroma. First taste was a bit bitter with a bit of malt and figs. The 7.7% is nicely masked. The body is full and rich. The finish is smooth and clean.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with an off-white head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma is full of bread with a bit of caramel and hints of dark fruits. Flavor begins full of bread as well with a bit of a sweetness (biscuit) and a balancing dark fruit note in the finish. Nice and smooth on the tongue. mattyb83 (737) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 8, 2011
Muddy mahogany color with a small white head. Aroma of bread and caramel. Maybe some sweet fruit in there too. Sweet flavor of caramel, toffee, some fruit jam, and toasted bread. Medium bodied beer that is pretty good but overall just too sweet for me. rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAY 3, 2005
Rich ruby gold, next to no head. Malty nose - some chocolate, dark fruits. Nicely h opped. Rich malt up front and then a huge bitter acaramel w. dark fruits - kind of strange. KUEric (977) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 2, 2005
Bottle: Had a grass like aroma with some malty as well. The pour was nice with a lot of carbonation and a good looking sized head, although it was kind of a strange yellowish off-white color. T he flavor was veru strong, meaning it had a bite to. Almost like bitter beer face type of a bite. The malts were good and there are definitly some fruit overtones, but that bite was difficult for me to get past. zebracakes (1339) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 23, 2007
Bottle from a 6 pack purchased at Sam the Beer Man in Binghamton, NY. Pours clear amber, white head. Aroma is caramel, grass, malt, vanilla. Flavor is the same with some bitterness from the hops.
