Dark cranberry color with brown and orange hues. Smallish cream ring for a head. Smells of wheat, banana, grapes. Taste is sweet malt, banana, grapes, pit fruits, dry hops and caramel. Pretty good ale, but nothing extraordinary here. JFURYCAT (1078) - East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2006 Re-rate 10-8-06. I don’t know what happened. Its almost like they re-worked this beer. Its way too high on the malt side and somewhat syrupy, lacking a hoppy balance to settle things out. I used to love this one as indicated below.
I am extremely biased as I love this beer. It has a coppery caramelly bubble gum finish which makes me want more. The only thing that works against it in my opinion is that it has a bit of a grainy finish which you find on the other CB beers. Maybe I’m a Ringwood or a malt fan. This particular bottle I got from Half Time seemed more on the caramel side than the bottles I’ve purchased directly from the site in the past. I wonder if they have enhanced this brew since it first came out. HogTownHarry (6872) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - JAN 24, 2006
Bottle (12oz) Hazy deep amber-orange with a large beige lasting rocky-foamy off-white head. Very faint aroma of dry floral hops, rye bread, faintly citrusy and not much malt anywhere. Taste is juicier (peach, orange, apple) with more floral and slightly funky hops - nice and balanced, the finish is quite juicy. Mouthfeel is slightly acidic and fizzy, decent body - don’t taste the alcohol at all - very nice. mike5203 (38) - Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 21, 2007
Just returned from Cooperstown, I tried this on draft at a steak house. Very nice dark amber color, perfect head that lasted almost to the end. It was smooth and warming with little nutty ending. I went to the brewery the next day and brought some home. It’s a pity we cant’t get it in PA Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 8, 2009
Bottle bonus courtesy of Cletus. Pours copper with thin tan head. The modest aroma has notes of apple, pears, sugar sweet malts, a bit of crystal malts and a touch of caramelization. The taste has caramelized malts mixing with prunes, apples and pears. It smooths out into the finish leaving sweetness and slight tart fruitiness to linger into the after taste.

Rich caramel aroma with hints of banana (a bit like bananas Foster). Flavor is medium sweet with a slight hint of metal and a drying hop finish. Interesting beer. garthicus (2929) - Dublin, IRELAND - OCT 2, 2009
Bottle. Dark brown body with a tiny bubbly white head. Aroma: honeycomb malt, slight spice, yeast, lemon and alcohol. Flavour: spicey malt, ’dusty’, dark autumn fruit, corn, tangy fruit peels and a long bitter malt finish. Interesting. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 6, 2010
Bottle from Half Time.Pours ruddy amber with a foamy beige head. Medium body with mildly frothy carbonation. Aroma is floral/fruity with roast malt. Flavor is pretty much that, though maybe the fruit is a little more forward. Slightly chewy. Pretty well balanced and almost smooth - the malt roast is just a bit harsh. Seems to fit the style. wlajwl (6811) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Aroma is sweetish malts and hint of vinous notes. The flavor is fruit/berries, medium sweetness and a mix of smooth and tangy in the finish. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - AUG 9, 2011
Bottle. Brown beer with a tan head. Citrus and caramel/toffee aroma. Citrus and caramel flavor with light earthiness. Medium bodied. Citrus and caramel/toffee lingers with light earth.
