People seem to give this a low aroma score so that it’s overall rating is low, which i can understand, but in reality, the aroma is the only decent thing about this guy. "Low-carb" and beer just aren’t things that go together, at least not with good beer. It does beat Bud Select and Mich Ultra out of the water though on taste.

This bottled brew from the BW3 in Fort Wayne, IN poured a small head of finely sized white colored mostly diminishing bubbles and left behind a poor lacing. The body was a carbonated transparent yellow orange color. The aroma was malty and hoppy albeit a bit mild. The mouth feel was mildly astringent tingly and bubbly from start to finish. The flavor contained mild notes of malts and hops. Definitely lacking in character, it still had more than other low carb beers I have sampled.

Straw color with a synthetic lightly whipped egg white looking head. Sweet grain (not malt) aroma with a hint of floral hops. Really does not smell like beer. talk about lifeless. Light sweet simple sugar flavor. this seems to be more closely related to club soda than to beer. Very fizzy.

No aroma. light yellow. Very much like water. Worse than Michelob Ultra.

If you’re a low-carb fanatic, then you’re a silly sack of manure. However... This is one of the few truly drinkable low-carb brews to come out recently. Not a bad malty aroma under a golden body with a slight white head. It goes good with thin-crust pizza,,, at least at Nick & Vito’s.

Ohhhh yeah, low carb macro drinking. n/a percentile, sweet! ok: Pale golden color with a tiny island of foam at the top that just screams castaway. stuck in the middle of nowhere without any beer, just fish and coconuts....until there is a huge hurricane (smell) that brings along some corn, lots of dust & sand and some faint sweet tropical malt. But this island was shortlived because it was swallowed up. Not by the ocean, but of this beer drinking fool typing this, laughing, laughing. The island tastes vaguely of malt, but is more like water than anything. Fresh water though, not salt water. A bit too grainy and dusty though. You know how you have to take a shot right or it burns? same thing here. Overall I’d consider this a castaway experience. I’m not satisfied about the whole thing, but sure am a bit smarter now that I’ve been stranded there. The lesson I’ve learned is to not fly Coors. The end.

Well, I've gone from the sublime to the ridiculous this weekend. Started the weekend with Allagash Four, now I'm dealing with low-carb offerings from the local ABC Likkas. Hope the Matt Accel does better. Lousy label, screw-off cap, beer looks like someone ran a rusty nail through some tapwater. Lagery, somewhat banana-like aroma. Tastes like watery malt liquor. Corny. Finish is tart and somewhat steely. Bleh. Why bother? If I go on a low-carb diet and need to drink, then I'll switch to vodka tonics.

This crap should never be avaiable to the public. The smell almost had a tiny amount of hops. Not sure about the hype that other raters mention. It is a light gold like a yellow shirt that has been washed 1000 times without Cheer. Tasted like a club soda. This can compete with Busch NA for bad beers. Abosolutely awful.

It’s not the worst beer, mainly because it doesn’t offend me (except offend my principles as a beer drinker). There’s no aroma, no taste, no aftertaste... It’s bland, but it doesn’t make me want to jump off a cliff; just get my money back.

hotstuff (5208) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAY 9, 2004
Taste better than some light beers that I have had, but still nothing to rave about in my opinion. It poured a small white head with fine-small sized bubbles that mostly diminished. This beer was carbonated and semi-transparent with a pale yellow hue. The aroma was malty and the flavor was a little hoppy. This was a light bodied beer with some lacing.
