On tap at the brewery 11/24/05. Lots of coriander and orange peel wafting from a cloudy peach color. Tastes like a mixture of saison and wit. Not a spectacular beer.

Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - DEC 13, 2007
MBG ’06. Hazy copper with minimal head. Aroma, floral and fruit abound. Iris, roses, citrus and banana? I swear I get banana and some clove even. Flavor again nice balance between fruits and floral, and still get banana and clove. (BBB disagrees). Through the middle, nothing but spice. Corriander, and spicy zest. Cracker, pils malt finish. Tad under attenuated is the only drawback, bit more carboantion would help this out greatle.

Michigan BGF 06, Day 2: Cloudy yellowish hue with almost no head. Very herbal nose with coriander, lilac, rose hips in addition to spicy and grassy hops. Wheat and yeast esters are noticeable. The flavor is equally herbal and flowery. Lemon zest and apple acidic nature and very much spiced on the finish. The front end of the mouth feel is sharp but has a chalky dusty finish. Okay but just too short overall. A spiced beer more than a Saison.

I remember this being much better at the Michigan Beer Fest. Today, it was very sweet, with only the slightest hints of the biscuity yeasts and coriander spice. Very thin, with a faint dryness at the end. No fruity esthers or complexity. Just because one adds spices does not make the beer a Saison.

Excellent brew in the Belgium tradition. Just the right hints of spice. Slightly cloudy with good foam and lace. I had a growler disappear in an awful short time. Next time I get two!

(On tap at the 2003 Michigan Brewers Fest)Lovely, light coppery orange hue, with a funky, fresh, earthy scent. Sweet, medium-bodied palate. Really nice and tangy. Recommended.

Cloudy tan. Aroma shows styrians (ok, so they were hersbruckers, but I can't pick those out very well), possibly coriander (well, dry peppery spiciness anyway). Dry, and slightly tart palate. Malts carry a biscuity note. Hops leave a lingering dryness. Muted esters, which leaves little complexity but allows the hops to make this beer appetizingly dry.

MIBG Fest: Cloudy golden colour. Appetizing aroma of yeast, pear, orange/citrus. The flavour doesn't quite live up to the aroma, but is still satisfying. A decent and flavourful summer sipper.
