UPDATED: APR 3, 2006 Poured an opaque black color with crimson hints around the edges, with a tan head and spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoke, chocolate and roast. Taste was lightly sweet, with chocolate and fudge, roast, and finished dry and smokey. The mouthfeel was thinner than I had expected, after having the Double Porter earlier this year. hopdog (13258) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 23, 2004
On tap at the General Lafayette - listed as ’Chocolate Thunder Porter’ on their beer menu. Poured a dark balck with a brown head. Chocolate aromas. Light coffee bitterness in the taste. Smooth body. BrianO (138) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 6, 2004
This was a tasty beer. Very dark, even for a porter, with a nice brown head. Aroma is subtle of chocolate and sweetness, if thats possible. Flavor is robust with chocolate and hints of toffee. Medium bodied with nice smooth, soft mouthfeel. Alcohol is hidden well. One of the better beers at this microbrewery and perfect for dessert. Very well made "robust" porter, smooth finish, alcohol content hidden well. Perfect beer for a cold winter night. morebier4me (140) - New York, USA - SEP 15, 2002

A very nice heavy porter, sharp dark malt initially, but finished smooth, packs a wallup!! bigmattiem (12) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 26, 2001
Loved it, like drinking my dessert.......................................... PhillyBeer2112 (2921) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2001
Wow - intense, rich, and chocolatey.
Its like drinking a chocolate truffle.
Slightly roasty malt flavors balance
out the sweetness. Hearty body, and very
dark black color that shows a hint of brownish
red when tipped and help to the light.
