Pours black with little head. Notes of chocolate in the aroma. Sweet, chocolate and roasted flavor. Light and smooth going down. bgburdman9 (861) - columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 13, 2007
Poured very black. Aroma of chocolate and dark fruits. Nice smooth flavor with a lot of boldness. Alittle tartness to it. A nice sweetness and unique porter. KingpinIPA (841) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 31, 2008
Handbottled by Santa! Dark Color. Smell of bakers chocolate, coffee, caramel/toffee, roasted malt and candy. Taste of bitter chocolate, roasted coffee, caramel, sugar daddys and dark fruit. Sweet and bitter. A little bit too sweet for me. Thanks Santa! Pastor (799) - Skowhegan, Maine, USA - OCT 26, 2009
Thanks to FooFaa for this extra. 12 oz bottle poured into a tulip produced two fingers worth of coco colored head that just stays around. The body is a midnight black. The aroma of the brew is strong roasted malts, big dark chocolate and espresso notes as well.
Flavor is very similar to the nose. The flavors of espresso and dark chocolate come thru very bitter not to much sweetness in this brew at all. It has a medium feel in my mouth with good carbonation almost too much for the style.
A good porter easy to drink on this rainy Sunday

Thanks to JohnC for sharing this one. Color is as expected, aroma is roasted malt and cocoa. Decent coffee and bitter chocolate flavors but the body is a bit thin to support the overall flavor profile.

Brewed in the USA...... Pours a sweet black color with a monster foamy khaki head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and coca-cola notes. Taste is of malts with some chocolate and nutty notes. The mouthfeel is pretty much on the thin side and finishes with a smokey aftertaste. Not bad, but i was expecting a more robust palate. valpoaj (742) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - FEB 15, 2008
Growler courtesy of Ty5592 - Thanks! Caveat up front that this was probably filled almost two weeks before consumption (damn head cold), but there was enough carbonation left to keep it good. Pours a light black (yeah, sort of odd, but concur with another that says you can still see through it) with a thin tan head. Aroma heavy on roasted malts with lots of sweet coffee and chocolate mixed in...very pleasant. Flavor is very, very sweet chocolate with a lot of roasted coffee...not much bitterness in there. Very milky/buttery flavor as well. Malt flavors linger long after the drink, and this brew is nice and smooth without getting to the point of coating the palate. Very nice offering that I’m glad I had the chance to try and share with others. Quake1028 (638) - Tampa, Florida, USA - SEP 30, 2007
Growler courtesy of JB175. Many thanks for making this possible, finally. I’ve been waiting a long time for this one. Pours a light devouring black body with a huge, creamy mocha colored head. Great lasting power and then excellent lacing once most of the head is gone. A ring of foam sticks around for the duration of the beer. Heavenly nose - milk and dark chocolate, bitter roasted espresso beans, coffee grounds, vanilla extract, roasted malts and cocoa powder. Allowing it to warm brings out new aromas at every turn. Beer just doesn’t smell much better than this, to me at least. Flavor is huge on chocolate - all kinds: milk, dark, bittersweet. Also the espresso notes are very prominent in the form of a huge roasted note, along with a background sweetness that I can only think of as vanilla or creamer. To me, even moreso than the nose, the palate is the best part of this beer. Chewy body, full bodied and very filling. Unbelievably sticky and coating mouthfeel, sticks with you for a tremendous amount of time after each sip. Carbonation is lively and perfect. Finish is roasty, bitter and super lengthy. A world class brew, and my favorite porter ever. Miver (609) - Silver Spring, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 21, 2008
Draft at brewpub. Poured a dark brown almost black with a medium sized creamy tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and roasted coffee. Tastes of rich chocolate, and roasted coffee, cream, vanilla. Smooth and very drinkable brew. Very nice. JAXSON (604) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 20, 2007
On tap at the brewpup. Pretty dark brown with a milkshake, kinf of pinkish, tan head. I don’t know if I was imagining the pinkinsh tint to the head, but it wasn’t my thing. Aroma of bitter chocolate and coffee. Taste was bitter coffee beans, faint sugarless chocolate, but a good bit of cloying sweetness coming from somewhere else. Once I could get past the sweetness the bitter kick was very enjoyable. Too much sweetness overall. Mouthfeel was pretty thick and creamy. Decent.
