UPDATED: MAY 12, 2010 From a cask at the General Lafayette Inn and Brewpub. Coffee and sweet malt aroma, black pour with light orange hilites. Full and flavorful, a bit dry. Very nice porter. alobar (3863) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Pours black with brow highlights and a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee with a hint of licorice. Chocolate flavor with some roasted malt and coffee. Really nice beer. dmac (6392) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - SEP 8, 2008
12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark brownish black with a small bubbly biege head that quickly fades. Aroma of bitter chocolate, freeze dried coffee beans, and perhaps some cola mixed in there as well. Medium bodied that starts off watery but then finishes chalky, average carbonation. Flavor is more complex then the aroma lets on with notes of bittersweet bakers chocolate, instant coffee, nutts, figs and toast. The aftertaste on this beer lingers and is very pleasant. Solid beer and if they can pump up the body a little bit I would find it much more enjoyable. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - OCT 10, 2008
Sampled out of BrianK’s Glass. A dark beer with a thin tan head. A bit of chocolate bakers style, no real etoh or hops to note. Crisp and dry, a bit grainy maybe the malt. Enjoyable with notes of vanilla. mar (5434) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 22, 2008

Tap at the Tiedhouse. Rich, chocolate and espresso aroma. Sweaty and nice. Dryish, creamy, chalky palate, not as rich as the aroma but a very solid effort. Sorry for this terribly short rating, that’s all I’ve got written down and to be honest I can’t remember a damn thing about this beer. Sammy (12491) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 30, 2009
Thanks Captain Cougar for this request. Pours blackish, white head dissipitating into something more minimal. Carbbonation bubbles. Smokey deli aroma. Medium mouthfeel, easy drinking..baltic porter. With some chocolate, and secondary of coffee well integrated. Sourish in the finish. sarahmarie (265) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 20, 2009
I poured a tiny bit in a glass, I guess too quickly, because the most massive tan head filled the whole glass. I literally only poured half an ounce and this thing foamed up more then I’ve ever seen. As expected it smells like chocolate, but also has a pleasant alcohol lift with a touch of berry. I really had to sniff this one out waiting for the head to settle. With half the beer in the glass it’s half black half chocolate milkshake foam. The initial taste has a dark chocolate and light burnt flavor. Some hints of espresso and berry poke in as well. Some sweetness comes through with a moderately dry hop finish. It’s only 6.7 %, but I would have guessed it to be more. There is medium carbonation with a chewy feel. I very much enjoyed this porter. Its dark complex and has a hoppy edge to it. neepsntatties (2019) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 15, 2009
A 12 oz. bottle thanks to "hannont". Colour... black with a thick tan head. Nose... musty, boozy with loads of dark chocolate. Palate... tangy, slightly bitter, soy sauce, dark chocolate, not quite what I expected as far as the palate was concerned. SoLan (1550) - Florida, USA - JAN 9, 2010
From notes. Black/brown. Tan carbonation. A ton of dark chocolate, light roast, bittersweet. Not very complex, but tasty. Medium body is smooth, easy to drink. Solid porter.
