On draft at the Inn. Poured reddish brown with minimal head (as usual) that left the slightest of lacings. Flavor consisted of malts with some spices, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Drinkingdan (375) - East Norriton, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2003
It was good but not nearly as good as some other spiced ales. bp (922) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 14, 2007
On draft at the brewery: pours a dark reddish brown with a bit of a spicy aroma but I didn’t pick up much more than that, taste was nutmeg with a cinnamon lingering aftertaste - but not very strong. I actually thought this was pretty good. PWalk (337) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2004
Pretty color in the glass with a decent head. Aroma was nondescript. On the palate the beer was fruity and hppy but nothing more. egajdzis (6581) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2004
Cask, without spices and fruit... Poured a deep caramel color with a medium sized, off white head and nice lacing on the glass. Medicinal, blackberry, cardboardy aroma. Taste was lightly bitter, with more berries as well. This was very disappointing, I assume they should not put this on, until it has spices and fruit it in.
