Tap. Pours clear light amber with a medium, creamy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy and spicy hops, cereal and biscuit malt with a clean lager character. Flavor is malt dominant with medium hops and bitterness and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation. sonnycheeba (5988) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Tap. Pours clear gold with average, fizzy white head; short retention and sine lacing. Aroma is cookie and bread malt, light citrus, floral hops, light yeast, and oranges. Flavor is sweet malt forward with some supporting fruit esters and faint hops; semi-sweet finish. Light body, medium carbonation, and low warmth. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 26, 2012
Tap @ CKBC. A bit hazy, orangish golden appearance with a decent off white head. Sweet, somewhat grainy, lightly fruity, a touch husky, hay aroma. Some light notes of stone fruits in the flavor like peach as well as a fairly rich pale malty taste but there wasn’t a ton going on. Fairly sweet but not cloying by any means. Sure it wasn’t flawed but it wasn’t all that exciting either. arminjewell (9635) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 23, 2012
Pour on tap at the brewery, clear orange with white head, this was aged for about 4 months and the age did it well, nice biscuit, honey and vanilla hints of grass, touch of spice notes, this was nice. Taste was nice and clean grass and yeast spice, slight biscuit and bread, nice honey and vanilla finishes fairly dry. No sign of alcohol either, well done. onceblind (9628) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 14, 2012
Dark gold, with a slight haze. Laceful white head that starts big but recedes pretty fast. Nice aroma of pale malty grains, toasty biscuit, and a little doughy yeastiness. Flavor is nicely balanced with some pale malty sweetness, kinda bready and grainy without being too lager-y, balanced by some subtle grassy hop bitterness that stays small enough to leave it quiet, warming, and slightly sweet.

Tap at CK - I was really excited to try this, as , when done well, I really love this style - sadly, this fell far short of the mark for me - hazy gold pour - flavors are one dimensional and muddled - strongly sweet, sugary malt base, with maybe a touch of honey character - hops are moderate but soapy - none of the bright, vibrant character you get from better examples of the style - some muddy yeastiness - strong alcohol presence creates a boozy and almost medicinal character in the finish - honestly, this tastes almost like malt liquor to me - the first beer from these guys that I have truly disliked - oh well.
