Black pour with a half inch khaki head and light lacing ..... aroma of cinnamon, cocoa and earthy ... pepper isn’t in the aroma ..... taste is of cinnamon, dusty cocoa, has a nice peppery kick on the back end and malty aftertaste with some over carbonation .... finish is spicy and peppery with a nice lingering chili bite .... sessionable hoped for a bit more cocoa blipp (9784) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 9, 2017
Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Rich chocolate sweetness, some cinnamon, a good dose of pepper heat, and mild-moderate roast. Pretty well balanced. RobertDale (6906) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - AUG 29, 2017
22 ounce bottle. Pours almost black with a nice tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and spice. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, cinnamon, and some chili pepper. Average. mbgrayson (810) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - DEC 4, 2016
Pours very dark brown, with a cream colored head. Aroma of peppers. Taste of red peppers, and a hint of chocolate. This one is too heavy on the peppers for me. Can’t recommend it unless you like spicy hot beer. alexsdad06 (10947) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - SEP 27, 2016
22 oz bottle shared with drsordr and Corey at the team meeting. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have bigger peppery spice, some berry like notes, spices, chocolate, peppery heat to the finish, would like to see the double version or coffee version for comparison.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour opaque black with moderate tan head. Nose milk chocolate, red fruit, green chilies, light cinnamon. Taste big cinnamon up front, red fruit, milk chocolate then cherry red fruit. Late palate some faint chilies and hint of burn. I like it. drfabulous (8673) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - SEP 5, 2016
Bottle shared at Jason’s. Dark and chocolate with a medium to light body. Some fruit in finish. Derek881 (1272) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 6, 2016
Poured from a large bottle into a pint glass. The beer had wet dark brown-black appearance with a deep ruby hue and a good-sized creamy dark tan head with average retention and cling, but good lacing. Its aroma featured a mix of malty flavors, including chocolate, cocoa, caramel, and bits of pepper and cinnamon. The taste had a smooth wet chocolate flavor with a bit of caramel, that quickly gave way to spice and cinnamon. It was a fairly wet and watery beer with lower carbonation and a lighter mouthfeel. 22oz bomber. Aroma is very off putting, strong metallic notes slight cocoa. Flavors of cocoa, faint coffee, chilli finish. The chillis finish warm on the tip of the tongue. Smooth mouthfeel somewhat watery. StefanSD (2468) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - APR 2, 2016
650 bottle. Bottle was a gusher. Black with a medium tan head that had somewhat poor retention and soon faded to a fine ring. The aroma was quite pungent with chili peppers and cocoa. Taste mirrored with aroma with chili peppers in the forefront backed by cocoa and dark chocolate. The whole concoction has an underlying lactate sweetness that seems to work rather well here. The palate was medium and appropriate. Finished long with lingering sugars and chili peppers. Overall: Decent.
