12 oz at the brewery. Pours bubbly copper with a tall white head. Aroma is assertively estery with notes of bubblegum, banana, pepper, clove and hay. Bubbly but full body carries clove, rich peppers, a dash of cheese and bubblegum. The finish lets the black pepper come through a little more, giving it a really nice character. A few more sips make this seem floral. Nice saison. arrogantb (1402) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 10, 2012
On tap at the Copper Kettle. Nice yellow color, white head, what more can I say? The smell had a bit of pepper that made me hopeful but then the taste threw me for a loop. The flavor was very heavy yeast with a banana ester type thing happening, very odd and I could not get past it. I usually measure every saison against Saison Dupont which is admittedly a high watermark but this was not even close. Needs more spice and less banana.

Pour on tap at the brewery, slightly hazy yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, bread, yeast, white pepper, sweet fruits with orange, lemon, some white fruits as well, hints of an earthy quality with more peppery phenols. Taste is a mix of sweet orange, pepper, lots of phenols with yeast, biscuit, bready notes, finishing fairly sweet, dry. Interesting, not my favorite of the style but solidly brewed. onceblind (10528) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 25, 2011
Clear yellow. Funky barnyard aroma, including hay and citrus. Taste was slightly metallic, or maybe just too peppery. But aggressively funked. No one nuance really pops out., but I give it credit for being pretty assertive. notalush (5922) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - APR 22, 2011
Cloudy, glowing golden beer - substantial head - nose is earthy, dusty, lightly phenolic and peppery - moderately sweet up front, with significant, tangy wheat flavors - dries out through the middle - citrus, dusty yeast, a flinty quality - some spiciness from the yeast that the pepper piles on top of - moderate phenols - spicy finish, with lingering orange and yeast - it’s good, but overdone - I feel like you can lose the pepper and orange peel and have a much better beer.

On tap @ Copper Kettle Denver. Completely cloudy yellow-orange appearance with a white head. Yeasty, barnyard, lemon/orange citrusy Belgian ale nose. A touch spicy, peppery, lemon citrusy, a touch wild, Belgian yeasty flavor. Peppery, yeasty finish.
