3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Chocolate malt aroma with notes of roasted malt, chilies and vanilla. Pours dark brown with one finger of light brown head that has good retention and excellent lacing. Starts with chocolate malt and roasted malt flavors with a rich, full body and smooth, slick mouthfeel. Finishes silky smooth with nice vanilla and chili pepper flavors that lingers on the back of the palate after each sip. Tasty definitely like the addition of the vanilla bean.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Apparently re-brewed, and bottled, around 2016 GABF. Black pour under a thin tan cap. The nose nearly smells of pumpernickel bread, but has a vanilla and cinnamon tone to it and a whisper of spicy cocoa. Bready aroma overall. Big flavor thatís complexly sweet but also earthy and peppery. Nice vanilla and chocolate flavor with gentle cinnamony pepperiness. Very plainly like the original with a kiss of vanilla. But I still love the original, sooo...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour on tap for the first cask Wednesday, 1/2/13. Dark black pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of big cinnamon, ginger, allspice, clove, some slight chocolate, vanilla, hints of earth, roast, slight espresso notes as well, a bit heavily spiced. Taste is a mix of sweet vanilla, coffee, chocolate, lots of cinnamon, some slight earth with a touch of ginger, allspice, clove in there as well. Finishes fairly sweet, slightly bitter, dry, and spicy. Not much different from the regular version, but tasty.
