COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Coppertail’s Independent Pilsner (5.1 ABV) is a traditional German Pilsner brewed with top quality Pilsen-style malted barley, German Fantasia and TNT hops, and lots of flavor. It features subtle bready notes, a crisp hop character and a clean finish. Most importantly, Independent Pilsner contains absolutely no rice, corn, syrups or other adjuncts. 6-Packs of Independent Pilsner will hit store shelves in the Tampa Bay area next week. Coppertail crafts flavorful beer for the Florida lifestyle. The brewing team, led by Brewmaster Casey Hughes, believes in time-honored, old-world production techniques. They utilize a natural carbonation process, use whole leaf hops and do not filter – because amazing things come to those who wait.

Very pale, misted straw gold with a thin white head. Standard longneck with an interesting, primitive paper label. Aroma is cereal, nutty sweet and just 'beer'. A wholesome barley flavor, continental hopping, not sweet, faintly savory and a little mineral. Frothy mouthfeel, sturdy body, this would be a solid cooking ingredient for any number of applications. Thought this was a grown-up pils. Market Square Liquors, Timberlane.

Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling light golden pour, fluffy snow white head, sticks around, nice lacing. Aroma has some honey sweet accents, a bit of a hoppy light minty bite. Solid pils flavor, some grainy notes, a bit of honey sweetness, some raw cake mix sweet solid hop bite. Crisp mouthfeel.

BBD: 11/13/17

2015 BJCP Category: 5D German Pils

AROMA: Moderately-low earthy/spicy/floral hops. Lightly sweet graham cracker malt presence. Classic lager aroma. Clean fermentation. 9/12

APPEARANCE: White gold hue; brilliant clarity with effervescence visible. Large white frothy foam. Retain and lace well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Moderately strong hop flavor up front. Spicy/earthy Noble hop taste with a dry, firm bitterness. Low grainy-sweet malt base. Slight metallic flavor on the finish (acceptable). Balance towards bitterness. Hops linger in aftertaste, but are quite tolerable and enjoyable. 17/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; medium-high carbonation. Crisp and quaffable. May be a little too bitter to session. Seems about right for 5.1% ABV. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Rare American pilsner that conforms really well to the German style. 9/10

Draft sampled at GABF 2016 with Paul and Larry. Pours a golden body with light white lacing. Mouthfeel is light bodied. Pretty clean overall, no off flavors - a slightly musty pilsener.

Translucent gold with dense white head. Medium body with high carbonation.

Herbal noble hops (tett/spalt) and doughy pilsner malt. Crisp minerality. Clearly of the German persuation.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with smalll white head that lasts. The aroma is grass and lemon zest. Medium body, wheat, lemon, light bitterness, good.
