Lightly hazed dark amber color with a taller foamy beige head. Scents of earthy toasted malt, caramel, rye and backdrop of herbal and floral hops. Stars with some caramel, and leads to earthy rye and hops. HInts of spice and citrus in the finish. Nice rye feel, with a little bit of slickness. Linger has a bit of malt and touch of hops, in both spice and bitterness. Another nice rye brew. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 19, 2008
Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy caramel colored amber brew with a creamy and thick beige head that has some good retention and some excellent sticky lacing. Aroma of semi-dry caramel malt, some flowery hops, toffee and a hint of citrus character. Taste has a more semi-sweet malty flavor than Corner Pub’s regular Fest Rye Ale, along with some flavors of toffee and some earthy herbal spice. Finish is semi-sweet with a light caramel and dry herb aftertaste. Though this beer was missing the hoppy bitterness of most other IPAs, this Rye beer was quite refreshing.
