3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap @ Cornerstone, served in a straight sided tumbler. Big, lasting, milk chocolate brown head w/ an almost black body. Big time chocolate aroma w/ this one, also caramel and hints of roasty malt. Very low fruitiness. Some sugary sweetness and lightly solventy alcohol. Flavor is chocolate and alcohol w/ some spiciness attributed to the alcohol. Herbal hop flavor; finish and aftertaste is bitter; medium fruitiness, sweet up front, also has a caramel and lightly smoky flavor. Full bodied, warming alcohol, medium carbonation. Not bad, but the alcohol sort of gets in the way. Would be much better if the alcohol presence were toned down.
