Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a clear yellow-gold color with a wispy bone white head that disappears quickly. Stringy lacing. Mildly hoppy aroma with notes of corn and malt. Light-bodied with light grassy hops and grainy malt flavors. The finish is mildly bitter hops and the aftertaste does not last long. Overall this is unmemorable. Sub par even for style. +++ Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a very pale yellow color with a huge soapy white head that faded quickly and left great lacing. The aroma was faint dry industrial lager with a touch of citrus. The flavor was dry cardboard with a hint of citrus and touches of butter and nut. Dry tart and citric finish. Sub par. It’s called grindstone gold and I’m thinking grindstones may have been used in the production of this beer. Pours piss colored from tap with no head. Taste is slightly metallic and dare I say gritty. Clean finisher. jsquire (4420) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Pale straw color with small white head. Light grain and lemon nose. Clean beer with a strong hop bitterness for a brewpub gold. Lemongrass over crackers with a long lemon peel finish. aracauna (3584) - Georgia, USA - DEC 30, 2004
This one comes in with a pale gold body and a slight, white head. The aroma carries whiffs of grass and lemon. That leads into a flavor consisting of mostly straw malt. Seems a little sandy in the flavor. Not bad for a pale lager, but it is what it is and nothing more. SrSilliGose (3330) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - DEC 22, 2009
pours a clear golden with a small white head. notes of grass, hay, pilsiner malt. low carbonation. skunky. subpar pilsner.
