An English version of a red, enjoyed at the brewpub. A finish without as much hop as I would expect from 40 IBU. Reddish tinged. kassner (1657) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2010
Could have been this was fresh from the kettle, but this was distinct in that it had a great head and lots of lacing, deep orange amber colored and very full flavorand well balanced. Plenty of malt and hops start to finish cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - FEB 28, 2009
I was able to sample a dry-hopped strong version of their classic Patriot Ale. Spicy hop profile both citrus and catty, unique to this nose and well received. Amber pour of course with a sizable head and stringy lacing. Very bitter mouth feel, medium bodied with a hoppy aftertaste. Gritty sugar and doughy malt with a green and assertive hop flavor. Toast and toffee seem to be in abundance as well. OhioDad (2492) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - JUL 22, 2007
On tap at Skippers during ohio brew week - Pours dark amber with a short offwhite head. Aromas of caramel and slight pine. Flavor is caramel and some grassy, fresh cut lawn hoppy notes. Good balance and smooth to drink.
