7/30/2008: The aroma of CornerStone Spring Wine contains cherry and ctirus and chewy caramel malt. The beer has a transparent rust-colored appearance and has a dense, foamy, khaki-colored head on top that creates good lacing on the glass. The flavor carries candied citrus, caramelized malt, and the alcohol is well hidden. The beer has a medium-full to full body and is creamy, smooth, mellow, and soft on the palate. This beer is very easy to drink.
Draught snifter (75 IBU, 8.5% ABV) at the CornerStone Brewing Company in Berea, Ohio. Rating #4 for this beer.
Enjoyed at the brewpub in 10oz brandy glass. Comes brownish and hazy with a creamy long lasting head and lots of little carbonation. Sweet aroma with noticeable sherry like alcohol and some sweet grain. The flavor is very solid, if just a bit hot. Sweet but not cloying with fruit and candy, grain & wheat flavors take a back seat but are supportive of the whole. Very nice blend of flavors. Slick mouth feel. Great job on this one. aracauna (3606) - Georgia, USA - JUL 16, 2008
Big rich hops and apricot arome. Frothy head. A little toffee and butter in the flavor. Really tasty. Dogbrick (13012) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 22, 2008
Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a mostly clear amber-orange color with a medium thin off-white head that burns away slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is fruity with hints of spice and yeast. Medium-bodied with an interesting fruit character (citrus, apricot). Flavors of wheat and earthy malt along with hint of spice as well. The finish is fruity and spicy with a tart fruit aftertaste. Overall this is an interesting and difficult to categorize beer that was definitely my favorite on the visit.
