Black pour, small tan head, decent lace/retention. Aroma of chocolate, light licorice and darker roast, some caramel. Medium bodied, quite drinkable, malty chocolate flavor dominates. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 6, 2016
Pours a almost black with just a faint red. Aroma is of coffee and malt with some hops. Flavor is of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and a little smoke. kevinator (2716) - The Colony, Texas, USA - FEB 28, 2016
Roasty aroma, hints of wood. Nice color and head but a little light for a beer that’s supposed to be robust. Deep roasted flavors with hints of wood and earth. Slight hops presence. GarrettB (1657) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 12, 2016
April 5th, 2014 - Apparently my experience with the Jurata was so profound that I completely neglected to take tasting notes. All I have in my Evernote file is a picture of a brew poured into a glass on a counter, and a subtle sense of anticipation. But I have a vague recollection of a semi-sweet, semi-savory beer. Lots of toffee and caramel, and deep cherry, both on the nose and on the palate. Good, balanced, and not too cloying. Reynolds314 (3477) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 27, 2016
Dark brown near black color with tan head. Aroma is lactose, cocoa, toffee, and caramel. Taste is lightly sweet and creamy with solid back end bitterness. Good beer.

22oz bottle. Nice beer. Could smell the alcohol as soon as I opened it. Surprisingly, alcohol is well hidden in this beer for 8% abv. Dark, smooth. Buzz snuck up on me. I got knee high snow this weekend. Perfect for chillin while the white stuff piles up. hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Bottle... Pours clear and black with crimson highlights when held up to very bright sunshine. Small, creamy, lightly tanned head. Great retention. The aroma is a malty, nutty, fruity swirl of brownies, pistachios and dark cherries. Full-bodied with tingly carbonation. The deeply roasted flavor consists of bittersweet dark chocolate accompanied by less significant rations of dark cherries and citric acidity. Finishes carbonic with a medium-bitter aftertaste. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 31, 2015
22oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an off white head. Roast, chocolate, some licorice, and anise. jgb9348 (6478) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - NOV 18, 2015
Rich deep brown body with a hazy smoke glow and a thin, fast-dying tan head, just showing oil after it fades. Aroma of smoke, oak, vanilla, rye, grain, caramelised sugars and a lot of pungent alcohol warmth. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavour with a good dose of bourbon, oak, grain, vanilla, honey, rye, peat and a touch of smoke as well. Aftertaste is just as complex with a large alcohol warmth throughout, also showing some subdued oatmeal, malt, grain, nut and raisin sweetness and finishing with the bourbon barrel flavour. Overall, a nice beer with more of a kick than I was expecting - bordering on a barrel-aged stout or an imperial stout instead of ’simply’ a Baltic Porter, but not a bad option in any book. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 30-March-2014 for US$8,99 sampled at home in Washington on 17-November-2015, about 20 months after purchase. biirusaikou (2705) - - OCT 19, 2015
Bottle shared, thanks Tim M. Roasted malt, dark fruit, good dose of umami, notes of cocoa, smokey notes, dry finish. Solid stuff.
