COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When naming this Baltic porter, a collaboration with Tampa’s famed Cigar City Brewing, we opted for Jurata as a nod to a mythological mermaid known to roam the depths of the Baltic Sea, just as energetic yeast used to brew this deep dark beer navigated our fermentation tanks. Dive in and enjoy Jurata’s true-to-style rich and complex flavors!

Draft - Dark chocolate and roast. Jet deep brown with a light brown head. Dark roast and chocolate with a syrupy chocolate bitterness. Roasty and nice, but none of the dark fruit I hoped for.

On tap taster at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A black beer with medium tan head. Nose is faintly of chocolate. In the mouth it’s sweet and smoooth, with chocolate and fruit impressions, maybe faintly of coffee. Low bitterness. Sweet and malty finish. 3.7.

Pours a thin head on a black body. The aroma is rich caramel, cinnamon, wood and salt. The taste is bitter-sweet black coffee, roasted malt, caramel and burnt sugar. Nice. The texture is thick. A superb porter.

Dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, leather, slight smoke, caramel, tobacco and ripe dark fruits. Taste of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate fudge, faint smoke, tobacco, hint of coffee. Full bodied, smooth creamy mouthfeel, perfect carbonation and superbly balanced. Delicious beer!!

Two pretty fantastic breweries, once again, collaborate to make a slightly better than average brew. Not sure how it happens but consistently does. Light khaki head with a dark, nearly black body. A little thin for the style. Cocoa, roasted malt, and toffee are present.
