It doesn’t take a genius to kno w quality West Coast IPAs require a stupid amount of hops. A generous blend of Nugget hops and the four Cs—Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Columbus—brings forth a myriad of tropical fruit flavors and a brawny, persistent bitterness that makes for a highly intelligent brew.

zimbo (961) - SCOTLAND - DEC 29, 2013
Typical nose for the style but with a tad more sugar and more orange golden colour. Half inch head which is glossy leading to some decent lacing. Fairly gassy start but the body is mainly sappy as well. Not bad buts lacks some definition and individuality.

beertholomeus (1813) - California, USA - DEC 28, 2013
Pours a copper color with a khaki head. Dank hop, caramel, citrus, biscuit, malt and some alcohol aroma. Rich hop, caramel, citrus, pine, biscuit, malt, and alcohol flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a bitter taste. Hoppy finish.

LOVEMESOMEIPA (10) - - DEC 26, 2013
Bottle from Sublime in San Marcos. The appearance is nice but the aroma had a chemical smell. Not getting the bitter taste of an IPA. I think they need to dry hop this IPA.

Borup (14462) - Albertslund, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2013
Draught at World of Beers, Key West. Hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of fruit, malt, hops and grassy notes.

VastActiv (7047) - Oulu/Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 16, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2015 Bottle from local BevMo, Sunnyvale, California. Colour is deep orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, piney, hints of grape, hops and malts. Re-rate Tap at Leijuva Lahna, Helsinki. Colour is deep orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Massive piney, some fruits, caramel, hops and malts. Nice surprise. Points 3.6 -> 3.8. One of those rare beers which are better in Finland than in USA.

Enjoyable beer, with a clean finish (its only detraction is no aftertaste) I would drink this one again

Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - DEC 11, 2013
Draft at Aces and Ales in Vegas. Pint glass. Golden amber pour with good head retention. Nice lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus, resin, pasture, fresh grasses, and malts. Taste similar with a hearty bold malt versus hop profile. Not very bitter. Also not booze tasting. Delicate finish for a DIPA. Good.

SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 9, 2013

superspak (5587) - Michigan, USA - DEC 7, 2013
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy bright golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, floral, grass, light honey, bread, light pine, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of bright citrus/tropical hop notes with moderate malt presence; and good strength. Taste of orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, floral, grass, light pine, light honey, bread, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of orange/lemon zest, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, floral, grass, light honey, bread, light pine, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of citrus/topical hop flavors with moderate malt balance; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice DIPA style. All around good complexity of hop flavors with moderate malt balance; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
