Named after Coronado Island, our original India Pale Ale is a liquid expression of hometown pride. Centennial, Chinook and Columbus hops combine to provide an explosive burst of piney bitterness and luscious notes of apricot, grapefruit and mango that are sure to evoke imagery of swaying palms and sun-kissed shores.

.Pale brown, fresh fully head. Fresh cut grass on the nose. In the mouth it is full and syrupy, with an immediate sharp note of grapefruit and orange. Long lingering bitter aftertaste. A nice strong IPA; almost an IIPA with such a thick body and solid structure. Quite nice, indeed.

Medium golden with a creamy head. Citrusy hops with hints of over ripe papaya. Seems light bodied for a 7% ABV beer. Crisp, light carbonation. The malts don't quite balance out the hops, lingering bitterness. Fair but nothing special.

Keg, Brewdog Shepherds Bush. It's just not quite right. A promising big pine and bitter first mouthful, and citrus/pine aroma, but both taste and smell have metallic, rubbery notes after a while which I could not get rid of.

Scopey (15261) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2017
Keg at BD Castlegate. It pours clear golden - amber with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, stone fruits, apricot, nectarine, peach, marmalade and bread. The taste is dry, bitter, resinous, apricot, peach, metallic tang, bread, cereal, wood and a touch of alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. More of an old school US IPA. Fair.

Tap at brewdog Camden. Pours an opaque golden, white head, good lacing. Nose is sweet pine, grapefruit. Taste is upfront tropical fruits, feeding into a mild to medium bitterness. Great balance.

Bottle at home. Bit unclear golden with white head. Big sweet malts, resin, caramel, biscuits, butter, pineapple. Big sweet and light bitterness. Medium body, buttery malty feel, soft carbonation. After closer inspection I think I’ve found what is the bottling date in tiny black letters on the brown glass: 06/04/15. Very sad, I bought this today. Wouldn’t have if I’d seen that.
