Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange hued gold with a large frothy head. Sweet apricot, brown sugar, and yeast nose. Flavors of caramel, apricot, pineapple, and a bit of a bite. Mouth leaves a sticky after taste.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 My notes from my book are pretty straightforward on this one... "Boozey. Not much else. Suffering in drinkability. Sweet malts. Disappointing." The pour into the glass looked good. Unfortunately, not much else was... I enjoyed a Coronado Idiot IPA earlier and this thing just fell flat and failed to deliver up to expectations.

Bottle was a gusher. Label says hearty pale ale and I do get some hops in the nose, but flavor is absolutely dominated by sweetness. Poured a glassfull of light tan foam that was thick, foamy, frothy that has staying power and some lace. Color is a medium clear amber with some large bubble trails. Aroma is a bit musty, wet leather, hops, caramel malt. Flavor is massively sweet, but without much depth; just hints of hop and bitterness. Body is ok and carbonation could be a tad more active. Finish is like flavor and a little medicinal. Proly would be good for cooking but Im not drinking any more.

A: a hint of haze on a bright, vibrant orangish amber. moderate off-white head with an outstanding retention rate. very strong lacing. S: mixture of aromas, some belgian yeast and spice aromas with a nice earthy and floral aroma from some hops. nice caramel aroma from the malts. T: big bold flavors. I get a lot of citrus from the hops, with some nice floral flavors. I am getting a lot of spices, some clove and some orange peel. Big yeasty flavors as well, I get some Belgian characteristics along with everything else. M: medium to full bodied. solid carbonation level, with an inviting palate, sip after sip. very smooth for the ABV.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a cloudy golden orange color topped by a small, foamy beige colored head that hangs around and leaves rings of lace on the glass. The aroma shows notes of orange citrus, belgian yeast and candy sugar, along with some citrus hop bitterness. The flavor follows suit with the citrus fruit, oranges and cream followed by the yeast and candy sugar. Some citrus and floral hops add light bitterness on the back end. The candied sugar adds a bit too much sweetness, but helps hide the alcohol. Medium bodied with good carbonation and a lengthy sweet, yeasty finish. Pretty nice brew, but the yeast and candy sugar seem to muddle things.

Hazy dark amber copper pour off white head ... lots of aroma spices and belgian yeast with a little lacing... taste was earthy and sweet, dark fruits and spice with a little bite at the end .... This brew definitely smelled better than the taste but its decent
