This So-Cal take on a traditional witbier honors Coronado’s main street, which is home to our brewpub and was once lined with orange trees. Bolstered by orange zest, coriander and orange blossom honey, it’s Belgium by way of Coronado. Expect a refreshing, light-bodied brew rife with citrus zing and a hint of earthy spice.

The taste is overwhelmed by the bubbles. Either it’s too cold or they’re making it up about the smorgasbord of flavours that should be present, perhaps I left them in the bottle when I poured the first part. Disappointed much.

12oz can. Pours lightly hazy gold with a medium off-white head. Aroma is wheat, coriander, and faint spice. Taste is the same but with an added citrus. Medium body. Average carbonation. Crisp-ish mouthfeel.

Canned version. Pours out a clear golden color with a foamy white head. Very bready with orange-citrus aromas and flavors. Somewhat easy drinking and refreshing, but too much on the bland side for me.

(Tap) clear, very bright yellow colour with a small white head; faint aroma of fruit; balanced, light flavour with a short, tart finish

Sample rated from backlog notes. Pours a slightly hazy yellow golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have orange zest, mild citrus, light honey, pale wheat malts, light spice, very average.

On tap @ The Gingerman. This is a near clear golden colored one. A small sidesticking bright white head on the top. Smells really soapy actually. A hint of Cointreau in the back. Really mild. Mild in the taste also. Creamy and really comfortable in the mouth. Thin and watery in the taste, unfortunately. Really thin taste vise. Traces of sugary malts, other than that this was a really blend and dull one. Quickly forgotten. 09.06.2015

Pours yellow orange color with aroma of orange, coriander, and honey. Orange honey flavor with some spice. Nice summer beer.

Draft at sloan. Aroma of wheat, grass and orange. Taste has soft sweet yeast, sweet orange, wheat and subtle tart. Nice beer and very nice on a warm Italian evening.

freekyp (2328) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - APR 25, 2017
Pours lightly hazy yellow with minimal tan head. Baby aspirin orange aroma and flavor. Light coriander in the background. Light and crisp, but the fruit is fake tasting here. Nit very good.

355ml can. Pours almost clear pale golden colour with a small white ring. Taste of zest, herbs, wheat. Taste of zest, lemon, wheat, yeast, very tasty!

Tap at Sidedoor. Hazy translucent golden orange body. Thin oily head. I tend to like my Wits with more of an oaky, vanilla feel. This is a decent, clean, enjoyable example of a more spice forward example. The coriander might be the most dominant flavor, balanced by the smooth malt tones. The honey tones start coming through after a few sips. Well made but more of a spiced honey golden ale than a Wit.
