COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This So-Cal take on a traditional witbier honors Coronados main street, which is home to our brewpub and was once lined with orange trees. Bolstered by orange zest, coriander and orange blossom honey, its Belgium by way of Coronado. Expect a refreshing, light-bodied brew rife with citrus zing and a hint of earthy spice.

An interesting wit. Orange is in the nose. But there is also a strange baby aspiring smell as well. The appearance was a touch dark for a wit. More like a heffe. The taste is very good though. Mouthfeel is very lively. Overall, I like it more than most wits. The orange notes sweeten the taste a little and give it a tiny bit of fruityiness that makes the beer distinctive.

Can. A- Coriander, spice, wheat. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Strong coriander, pepper, spices, wheat. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- There was a day when I was head over heels for wits. That day has long passed but I can still appreciate them. At first I was under the assumption this was an orange forward wit reading the name. Had I paid more attention, I wouldve noticed its just the name and not orange forward. In fact, I didnt get much orange peel at all. Pretty much a standard wit by all means. Not bad not great, just decent.

Not bad for what it is. Aroma and flavor are both predominately orange, with a cereal grain malt backing. Honey is more pronounced in the taste than the aroma. Moderately clear orange-gold with a full white head that falls quickly and leaves a collar of tiny bubbles. A bit of a harshness on the back half of the palate.

Orange Ave Wit is probably something of a cash cow for Coronado. Beers like this give them the capital to put out beers they really love. Im not trying to be mean. Honestly. This Wit definitely has its appeal. You have no trouble tasting the orange and honey. This brew offers sweetness on top of sweetness. Its the kind of thing you could crush effortlessly in summertime no matter who you are. Theres just not a lot to it outside of the intense sweetness.

On tap at Phils BBQ. Pours a hazy yellow orange with small white head. The aroma is wheat and orange zest. Medium body, wheat, orange peel, light finish, decent.

From a 12 oz bottle into a New Belgium tulip glass. Pours cloudy orange gold with small head and lace. Aroma of light grains, orange, pale malt. Significant carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Flavors of grains, light malt, dry bread, orange zest, slight herbs. Overall light, refreshing, decent brew.

Bottle from West Goshen. Clear gold with some white head. Pale malt, yeast, grass, citrus aroma. Orange and wheat notes with a slight metallic tinge. Theres some spice and its bitter in the finish. I cant decide about this beer. Ive enjoyed it and then I havent. Mediocre wit with spice and zest at best.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Light to medium golden - cloudy. Mostly clean aroma with some spice. Taste is pretty bland with some spice. Not a good example of a wit.
