Pours a crystal clear golden color with a quickly evaporating head. Some soapy notes on the nose. A little banana, then green grape, and finishes with nutmeg. All mild. The nutmeg lingers. A larger pull imparts some fresh chili pepper. I’ve been told with certainty that there are no chilies in this one. Only basil, ginger, and lemongrass. Perhaps the combination of the three imparts that spiciness. kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - JAN 11, 2013
(tap at brewpub in November) gold with small white head. Aroma of Asian spices. Flavor was some malt, ginger, Asian spices. DuffMan (10278) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 25, 2012
On tap @ the brewpub on Coronado Island. Medium golden colour, thin white head that fades quickly to nothing. Aroma is exceptionally perfumey, lots of jasmine, lychee, exotic spices. Again, the palate is very perfumey to the point of cloying, with flavours of lychee, ginger, jasmine, rosewater. Aromatically, very tea-like, but over the top with it’s crazy infusions of exotic scents and flavours. Cool idea, but needs to find a better balance.
