CanCrusher (1099) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - AUG 12, 2016
Bottle 0,33L. Thanks Kita for sharing. Very dark brown, almost black color with small, creamy, dark brown head. Aroma of roasted nuts, dark chocolate, cognac, strong coffee. Taste is bitter, chocolate dominates. A touch of alcohol, that warms you a little. Full body, oily/creamy mouthfeel. Excellent beer!

100 IBU Lot 1602. Zwart bier met weinig beige schuim. Geur: licht gerookt, geroosterde mout en wat alcoholisch. Smaak: koude espresso, zwarte chocolade en wat bittere groene hop. Romig dik mondgevoel. Afdronk: lang bitter en droog.

jackl (8271) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 2, 2016
Keg @ Palais de la Biere, Lyon. Deep brown with a tight tan head. Nose of charred grain, a bit of soy sauce. Chocolate syrup. Flavor is sweet and very assertive. Chocolate syrup. Hot booziness. Roasted coffee. Earthy char. Oily and substantial. Rich. OK effort, but lacks the control and cohesion that seperate the best in the style.

beerplace (1805) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 1, 2016
330ml bottle at Matt’s. Pours a very dark brown with a strong dark beige head. Aroma is similar to pop drinks with roasted malt notes. Taste is oily, burnt malt, dark fruits. Roasted, smoky, burnt malt aftertaste. Very good.

mcberko (18434) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 30, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2016 330mL bottle, pours an oily black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, light sweetness, and a little cocoa. Flavour is fairly robust, with roasted malt, dry cocoa and light-medium sweetness. Well-rounded, fairly robust and quite drinkable. Solid stuff.

courtesy of Laurent Mousson - black beer under a chaotic foam left; roasted aroma of cacao, walnuts and wheat; full-bodied, oily and thick; very bitter and tasty; long roasted aftertaste of cacao, black chocolate and nuts - powerful and good

Ma bière préférée. Cette bière est un imperial stout puissante. Je m’en lasse pas. Je l’ai découverte à l’arène bières à Marguerittes.

Bawelt (874) - Lyon, FRANCE - FEB 24, 2016

Jet black with no head. Dark fruit and some roasted malt flavor. A little chocolate as well. All around good beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
