Bottled. 33cl sample. The aroma has roasted malts, syrup, coffee. Black coloured beer with a beige head. The taste is moderate sweet and bitter, has roast, chocolate, figs. Full bodied beer. Nice one.

Bottle bought at La Cave A Bulles, Paris. Very Dark brown with a light brown head. Huge aroma with notes of Chocolate, vanilla, coffee and spices. Creamy and sweet with a roasted bitterness to counter. Doesn’t seem to bitter despite fairly high IBU. Great!

ça sent le chocolat et le café la robe est noire sans subtilité le gout revient sur les arômes le palais est bien alcooleux mais se laisse boire facilement, une très bonne impériale stout française!

Bottle from Secrets d’Abbaye, Vendin-les-Béthune - FR. Color: deep dark black beer with no carbonation and medium brown head. Smell: roasted malt, coffee and mocha. Taste: full body with small oily sensation, mocha and roasted malt. Coffee hint and liquorice. Good attenuation. Very amazing beer. Aftertaste: roasted malt, liquorice and mocha. Coffee. Superb beer!

On tap @ La Fine Mousse, Bourbon Barrel Aged. Belles notes de malt torréfié, chocolat, café, l’alcool est présent avec le bourbon qui apporte une belle rondeur. Petite note d’amertume en final. Excellente !

cagou007 (1198) - FRANCE - NOV 22, 2016
Pours deep black with huge and compact brown head, very nice appearance. Nose is roasty and milky. Aromas are roasted malts, caramel, dry fruits, dark fruits (sour cherry), coffee, dark chocolate, alcohol. Low carbonation, full body. Long roasty and alcoholic finish. A bit unbalanced, because of the strong alcoholic taste, but a very nice brew anyway!

UPDATED: APR 24, 2017 I bought this bottle at the "cave à bulles" Paris. I drank it with one friend at Petit-Lancy. This beer is a well balanced imperial stout dark body, brown foam rather low carbonation but it is normal for the style. The taste is with roasted malt, hop, vanilla, bitter chocolate, licor, powerful in the mouth.

Kita (2193) - Koper, SLOVENIA - AUG 14, 2016
Bottle 0,33l, aged for 2 years, shared with CanCrusher. Pours almost black color with thin creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, nuts, chocolate and cognac. Tastes of dark chocolate, relatively sweet with rich roasted maltiness, nuttiness and warming mouthfeel. Alcohol is present, although well hidden, while finish is quite bitter, but still very balanced beer. Full body, thick creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Tzar...

Bottle 0,33L. Thanks Kita for sharing. Very dark brown, almost black color with small, creamy, dark brown head. Aroma of roasted nuts, dark chocolate, cognac, strong coffee. Taste is bitter, chocolate dominates. A touch of alcohol, that warms you a little. Full body, oily/creamy mouthfeel. Excellent beer!
