Nice spicy aroma and deep red, brown colour. Flavor is fine too, very dark malts give that christmas feeling :) FrankJohansen (3622) - Sabro, DENMARK - DEC 18, 2005
A bit sweet too, hints of caramel. Nice one.
Bottle. Aroma of hobs and coriander with strong notes of cinnamon and allspice. Red brownish colour with a mostly lasting head. Good palate. hezron (614) - Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 17, 2005
Bottle, best before 9/16/07. Aroma of pine, slightly hoppy with some roasty dark malt including coffee and caramel. Dark, dark brown with a tall and frothy off-white head and great lacing. Caramel flavor, very malt forward with lots of oxidation flavors and some cardemom and coffee. Oxidation-cardboard just a little to much for me. Medium body with a metallic, mineral-like finish. badgerben (5355) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 16, 2005
Dark brown color with a thin head. Aroma struck me as corriander; odd for the style. Basic malt taste with yet more corriander. Some fruit, but overwhelmed from the spice. Out of balance. axilla (962) - New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 16, 2005
On tap at Monks. Poured dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma was sweet oranges and spices. Flavors were dark fruit, carmel, and some mild licorice with a sweet orange citrus finish. Very tasty and alcohol well-masked.

(Bottled) Dark amber color with a small, beige head. Sweet and malty aroma with mandarine and some anise hints. Sweet, caramely-malty flavor with plums, licorice and raisins. Medium to full-bodied palate with medium carbonation. Hides the ABV well MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2005

25cl bottle from Lowlander. Very Christmas like aroma. Spicy, sugary and some treacle toffee. Great dark hazelnut body with reasonable head retention and average lace. Flavour is what you would expect. Heavy carmael, chocolate, spice and generally pudding like. No doubt this would be much too sweet for some but I like it. Bubbly palate but not too much so. Sweet alcoholic finish. Good stuff.
Dark crimson and brown, fizzy khaki colored head. Rich complex nose of musty caramel, plum, golden raisin, rum soaked fruitcake, and light anise. Tasted similar to the nose, just not quite as bold. Basically loads of dark fruit flavors and caramel, dark candi sugar, touches of liquorice, and a light hop bitterness providing nice balance. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, soft bittersweet finish. A good holiday sipper... Tmoney99 (15044) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 15, 2005
Bottle. Poured a hazy brown with a large creamy light brown head that was fully lasting with excellent lacing. Good complex spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Moderate sweet bitter flavor with a light bitter finish with a long duration. Very well done.
