On the palate this silky smooth ale is predominantly malty, with smoky, spicy and citrusy notes, and a long, lingering finish that is lightly tart and malty.

Pours a clear, dark, ruby-brown with a light tan, clingy head. Unique nose. Weeds, garden vine, sweet, pull candy, custard. Moderately viscous with a moderate crispness. The flavors follow the nose.

250ml bottle @ home. Bottled 2003.08.29. Pours a very dark brown with a small tan head that dissipates quickly. Nose of caramel and some Christmas spices. Flavour is caramel, brown sugar, light chocolate. Overall this is a very smooth ale, a great sipper... thinking I should have kept this for a Christmas Day beverage. Thank you Alex for the bottle!

Aroma: Toffee, hint of caramel, candy, dried fruits, leather...flavor: very similar to aroma, with spicy, floral note of hops. Finish is dry, slightly spicy bitter. Body is medium, texture soft, carbontion medium to full.

25cl bottle. Dark ruby-brown pour with a tan head that gives way to a sticky lacing.Smells like dried fruit, coffee, chocolate, toffee, red grapes, copper. The taste follows the same notes, bitter-sweet leaning towards sweet, with a medium body, soft carbonation and a sticky sweet aftertaste.

Smell of malt, dark fruit, lemon, sugar. Come in dark red clear with thin creamy crown. Taste well, fresh, right carbonated, somewhat light body. Could take as slightly bland. Taste of fruit, malt, airly. Right texture. Pretty good, easy drink overall

Has an aroma of grassy hops, fruit, and barrel aging, and as I sip I taste caramel malt; the taste has average sweetness and bitterness, but no sour; generally a decent beer (this bottle was old, so perhaps it’s not in best condition).
