750 ml. bottle from 2016. Rich toasted malt and dark fruit aromas with a touch of molasses. Murky dark brown color but nice orange/red color under bright light. Dark cherries and dates with some nutmeg and allspice mixed in the flavor. The body is quite light for what I thought it would be with a creamy texture and the alcohol seems subdued for 8.5%. Theres a touch of vanilla and cream in there too. Finishes with a little heat and a lasting dark fruit and vanilla flavor. Although all the components were very good, for some reason the overall result was somewhat less than the sum of the parts. Still a very good Christmas ale.

Bought from birrabox. Pours a dark brown color with a medium head that lasts for 1,5 min. Medium carbonation. Aroma has some alcohol and a hint of citrus, not very good for me. Great body. The taste is complex, spicy. The aftertaste has some bitterness and a bit of swetness. Very good beer overall.

25cl bottle at home. Pours a dark brown colour with a big soapy beige head which slowly recedes to a thin layer on top and leaves a fair amount of lacing. Aroma of dark malts, spices, prunes, candy sugar, raisins, berries. Taste is fairly sweet, light bitter with a sweet and warming finish. Notes of spices, liquorice, thyme, rosemary, caramel, raisins, prunes, dark malts. Texture is creamy, medium bodied with moderate carbonation

750 ml from Monastery Greetings (Belgian-Style Ales). Pours a dark brown with a lingering tan head. Aroma isn't pungent but still complex with spices, roasted grains, and yeast. Taste is surprisingly light for the color. Spicy with some roastiness. Mouthfeel is light and effervescent but has a long, spicy, toasty aftertaste that sticks around. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
