Bottle from Den Gouwen Aar @home Pours dark brown, medium offwhite foamhead, good lacing. The aroma is malty, caramel, roasty. Taste is a good balance between sweet and bitter, not too much on either side. Medium body, medium carbonation. Finish is not abrupt and only a little bitter. Great beer, for many occasions.

Maits (479) - ESTONIA - JUL 14, 2017
Hazy red brown beer with frothy and longlasting beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, hops, yeast and spices. Taste is sweet caramel, dark chocolate bitterness with dry bitter finish. Medium body. Rich flavoured and good tasting beer.

Bottle. I will be heretic but this was far from expected. Leffe brune set the limits and this is beyond imo... Not sure about the high ratings but nope for me

Plum and raisins on the nose. Finish is more on the dry, subtle side than bombast Belgian. Good carbonation, but to me (I’m a rube) taste could be a bit more in the foreground. Could grow on me, seems similar perhaps to Orval in its subtlety

330m bottle. As Corsendonk Pater Dubbel Ale. (6.5% ABV) Pours a hazy ruby-brown with a large, frothy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Yeasty aroma with dark fruit, spices and caramel malt. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, dark fruit, red wine, dark chocolate, spices and yeast with a dry, slightly bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Pretty decent.

Bottle from tesco. Sweet caramel, honey, plum aroma. Dark colour with red tones, big creamy head. Taste of caramel, honey, little bit roasty, black fruit and lovely earthy bitter finish. Really enjoyed this piece.
