Nickls (2607) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JUL 13, 2012
Bottle. Eggshell head, darker muddy brown hue. Sweet malty aromas, with some slight fig, toffee, dark fruits and some candy. Flavor isn’t as sweet as suggested in the aroma, but has solid toffee, maltiness, and almost a touch of a savory character. Medium slick body.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is coffee, raisin, chocolate. Taste is the same, lots of carbonation, dry finish. Lighter body than some dubbels, but good flavour and balance.

Ok, first some introduction I 'm from Belgium, and the last five years i have tasted more then hundreds of the best beers of Belgium. My current favourites in Belgium are Rochefort 8 and 10, Gouden Carolus Classic and Tripple, Bourgogne des Flandres, Sint Bernardus White, Prior 8 and Abt12, Malheur 12, St. Feuillion Brown and St. Feuillion Grand Cru , Chouffe Houblon and Triple, Chimay Triple (white label), Hoegarden Gran Cru, Surfine Saison, Buffalo Bitter, Noir De Dottiginies, Urthel Samaranth... En now just found this one in the local supermarket, always skipped it because i never knew the name of the beer (it never seems to have won a world award) But trust me, this beer is awesome. IT can do what all these other beers can do but at a lower alcohol percentage. This one is only 6.5 but gets almost to same feeling as a Malheur 12 for example which is 11.5%!. this beer is a beer that you can drink more then one for sure and has the quality of a high alcoholic abbey beer! Recommended full heartedly if you are a brown coffee/chocolate/caramel/herbs beer lover in the winter ! PS: ratedbeer says the alcohol percentage on this one is 7.5 but that is incorrect.Looking directly at the bottle it says 6.5% (Corsendonk Pater Dubbel the beer)

Butelka. Alkohol niewyczuwalny. W smaku umiarkowanie słodkawe, słodowe, chlebowe, przypieczona skórka, rodzynki lekka kwaśność. Alkohol zupełnie niewyczuwalny. Finisz bardziej wytrawny. Goryczka niska do średniej. Jak to w piwach belgijskich dość mocno nasycone. Niestety ma trochę zbyt mało ciała - jest nieco wodniste.

hohops (1096) - Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2017
Label says 6.5%. Appearance is coca-cola brown, with a ruby tinge. A clingy off-white head. Aroma- dark fruit and cherry, chocolate hints. Taste- treacle, cherry, blackcurrant, hints of chocolate, raisin, rough malt, cardboard. Slightly fluffy mouthfeel.

electrotype (662) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 21, 2017
Légèrement trop mince comme corps. Mais c'est pas mal tout ce qu'on peut lui reproche!. L'âme est sombre et bourrée de fruits confits. Elle ne tombe pas dans le sucré excessif trop facile. Réussie.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2017 Bottle. Dark brown/purple with a quickly fading off-white head. Bubbling like a soda. Malt, barley, hops, caramel, light roasted. Easy to drink, quite good.
