This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a nice looking tan foamy head. Slid off to leave some light stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasty malt with some earthy tones, light cocoa, and sweet black cherries.
The flavor minimally blended the roastiness to the cocoa and black cherries. Aftertaste felt nice and warming with a better blend than the initial taste.
The feel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch above with a nice steady sipping quality. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, pretty nice imperial stout for the most part but didn’t expect the aftertaste to be better than the initial taste. Leighton (21486) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 26, 2015
Keg at Lake Drum - Geneva, NY. Pours deep brown with minimal beige head. Rich roasty malt nose, some scorched earth notes, cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with mellow iodine, cherries, chocolate and raisins. Medium to full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes warm and sticky with lots of burnt sugars, charcoal and dark fruits. So so. arventresca (567) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 4, 2014
Abv is 8.7%at brewery. Black very little head. Total imperial stout. Decent not great. Ron (3995) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 15, 2014
Bottle. Poured black with a dark tan head and some lace. Sweet roasted malts, light coffee, cocoa powder and a light bitterness; taste is same as the aroma, a little more bitter, moderate carbonation and light malty body. The alcohol is somewhat noticeable. realjb29 (27) - olean, New York, USA - DEC 24, 2013
Aroma is black licorice, anise, and prune. It pours very dark a syrupy with barely any head. The head dissipated quickly leaving no lacing. Taste is predominately black licorice other flavor notes are prunes, raisins, and coffee. It is very astringent with a sticky molasses finish that is boozy. It weighs heavy on the palate and finishes sweet with low carbonation. Overall, lacks a complex flavor profile and th appearance is lackluster so it falls into the average at best category.

Anise and dark chocolate nose. Very appealing. Some plums back there too. Pour is very dark with a fast fading head that is tan, some of it forms an outer ring and also a nice lacing pattern that also disappears quickly. Palate is thick and chewy, dominated by roasted malt, chocolate, a bit of alcohol warm, thick velvety mouth feel. I really liked this. Pretty solid. Pours black with a thin head that was gone within a minute. No lacing. Aroma is strangely berry like, almost like some fruity bubblegum. Taste is similar. Somewhat bitter with an astringent finish. Thin. Almost no carbonation. Not impressed at all.

Pours dark black brown with a thin tan head leaving almost no lacing. Sweet chocklate and berry flavor. Very easy to drink and is a very good beer, surprising to see such a low rating. mtdewa1 (441) - rome, New York, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Dark black pour, thin head. Raspberry chocolate taste, sweat overall. Good beer worth a try
