We use only the very best ingredients available, like the finest Liberty and Hersbrucker Hops and carefully selected Maris Otter Malt. That helps. Our brewing practices are inspired by the German Purity Law of 1527. That also has its merits, adding to the exquisitely crisp and refreshing taste. But there’s more to it than that – we are passionate about beer. So much so that we changed our lives to follow our hearts, and every beer we produce embodies that passion and commitment. It’s the extra ingredient that makes all the difference. Who’d have thought it, money really can buy you love. Serve chilled and enjoy.

330ml bottle from my local Co-op. Pours clear golden with a thin white head, not lasting long. Light malts in the aroma, subtle grassy hops. Taste of pale malt, slight biscuit, grassy hops, light citrus, crisp and clean. Light body, oily texture, average carbonation. Better than most macros, not too thin.

Keg at the Fleur De Lys, Dorchester on Thames. Blonde in colour with a barely-there white head and very light fizz. Honey and caramel are to the fore here with just a light grassiness in the finish. It’s a bit too sweet, but still better than most of the macro lagers out there.

Looks like lager, minus the head. Tastes like lager. Not a bad one, but nothing to distinguish it.

Keg at Watershed, Bristol. Metal. Lots of fizz. Not brilliant. Not much flavour. A lesser lager.

Tap at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence, 15/05/13. Pale blonde with no head - she’s no looker! Nose is pale malts, grass, cereals, light citrus. Taste comprises light sugars, grass, citrus notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation - not too gassy. Ok lager.

330ml bottle and on draught. I can’t stand brewers offering their wares in smaller bottles to hide an often over inflated price - I aways mark down for that reason! This is probably the best lager I have ever tasted with the possible exception of the same brewer’s 3.8. The aroma is deep and complex for a lager with notes of hop, malt as well as the usual lager smell. Appearance is a light yellow with an unfortunately short lasting head. Taste wise this lager has it all and a lovely malty aftertaste to finish. Imagine a lager with the malty aftertaste of a real ale and you have it in this beer

Keg. Light golden color with a big white head. The nose is of banana and sweet grains, angel food cake. Quite sugary. The taste is light sweet, malty. More fresh banana, bread, and rainwater. The body’s light. Pleasant. Overall, a more than decent lager. Enjoyable.

Golden colour, white head. Aroma has some grainy malts, earthy, grassy hops. Little dry mouthfeel. Everything is light with this beer.

Small white head. Deep yellow body with light carbonation. Light strawy aroma with mealy notes. Dry-sweetish deep strawy malty oily taste with dusty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, smooth, slick mouthfeel. Dry strawy resiny aftertaste with floral notes. Lovely dry edge to it. Fresh and drinkable. Very nice. (0.25l keg at Natural History Museum, London.)

Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20110122]
