Cask @ The White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Clear copper-gold in colour with a thin head. Has a sticky-sweet malty-sweet texture and taste.

BlackHaddock (7410) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUL 28, 2015
500ml bottle conditioned: BBE of Aug 15. Poured carefully into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on the afternoon of 28th Jul 15. Nice looking beer, reddy brown, chestnut like the label claims in fact, the head a large billowing off-white foam blanket, no sediment left the bottle, so the body was clear and clean. Malty lead in both the aroma and taste, but only just, the hop content leaps into the latter stages of the flavour giving a good, bitter finish to this pleasant blend. The nose becomes more hop centric as the beer warms with a woody, piny aroma coming through the maltiness. Good body feel to the brew also: a new brewery to me, happy I found it.

A very average bitter. Tastes very fresh, but nothing special. Lacks a clear flavour.

[email protected], oldbury. Dark amber, medium head and good lacing. Aroma of malts. Taste is malts, dry hops and a touch smokey. A decent beer.
