Cask (handpump) at the Drum (JD Wetherspoon) on 24 July 2011. Gold with a slight haze. Light mouthfeel. Easy drinking and quite clean but not that exciting. Straightforward stuff.

Cask, Star & Garter, Wigston. Amber with an off-white foam. Aromas are toffee malts with caramel with dusty Autumn leaves. Creamy and woody with tea. The Drum. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, mild earth, sweet malts as well. Flavour is caramel, fruits, nuts and sweet wooden notes. Also some resiny and sweet malty notes.
Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Amber with a thin white head; the aroma is leafy and malty; the flavour is a simple combo of sweet malts and grassy hops; leading to alightly bitter finish. ’nough said.
