It always happens. Just when I am all set to bemoan Cottage churning out yet another mediocre beer, I find one that’s actually rather good. Glowing golden colour. Fresh aroma, but with a surprising fruity malt element too. Crisp citric flavour with some hints of wheat. My note said it had a rather Belgian feel to it and I was pleased to see that Mungo noted that too. Only marred by slight lack of bite in the finish, but that’s a minor criticism. Cask (handpump), Head of Steam, Euston, London NW1

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2015 Cask @ Trades Club, Hebden Bridge. Crisp tasting with a mild malty nose. Golden with a small head and mild malts in its taste too. Mungo (2470) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2004
Cask conditioned @ JDW, Winchester. Spicy yeast, almond notes and citric hop aroma. Some malt sweetness with chalky, yeasty bitter finish. Yeast almost reminiscent of some belgian beers.

Pours creamy, turns to gold. Pleasant citrus aroma, which continues with in the taste with a light element of hops. Quite pleasant. imdownthepub (14745) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2003
Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Pale golden with bubbly head. Sweet fruity bodied beer with a malty fullness. Rounds of to a sharp tanginess. berkshirejohn (6530) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2014
Cask at the Old Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. Chestnut with a loose white head; fruity malt aroma; toffee malt taste; and a Brazil nut finish. A traditional malt-lead bitter, in my opinion, so perhaps not the same beer as the one described here! niquillis (2752) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2015
On cask at Old Bulls Head, Newcastle under Lyme. Pours golden amber with a white head. Fruity golden with a malt back. Pleasant enough golden session beer. Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - JUN 16, 2004
Cask Conditioned, at the Head of Steam, Euston, London.
Deep amber coloured body capped with a thin speckled vale. Sweet oak aroma. Sweet malt flavour with cloying almost sticky palate. Not a hot summers day beer.
