Cask at The Stafford Arms, Bagnall. Deep ruby brown colour with a thin off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, burnt caramel, spice and dark fruits. Taste of roasted malt, nuts, sweet dark fruits like plum and raisin plus a little bitterness. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A roasted, fruity finish. A warming winter beer. Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chocolate, roasted, dusty, keller. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Drum, London. Deep amber colour, smalll beige head. Aroma is nutty, dark fruity, floral and also some mild herbal and malty notes. Flavour is similar, but has the dark fruits and nuttyness coming in stronger than in the aroma.
